Medforce Healthcare Recruitment is recruiting a Principal Social Worker in Galway to lead social work services, providing professional leadership and supervision to a multidisciplinary team serving individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism and complex needs.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, case management, complex assessments and service planning, shaping strategic development and delivering person-centred outcomes for individuals and families.

Qualifications

• Recognised professional qualification in Social Work under Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 or CORU validation.
• Eligible for CORU registration.
• Postgraduate qualification in Leadership or Management.
• Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience as a Social Worker.
• Significant experience with intellectual disability, autism, complex support needs and families.
• Strong experience in complex assessment, case management and multidisciplinary working.
• Proven experience supporting individuals and families through life transitions.
• Strong administrative, organisational and management experience.
• Full current driving licence with access to your own vehicle.

Responsabilités

• Provide leadership and responsibility for the Social Work service, including supervision and professional support.
• Lead and manage the Designated Officer/Safeguarding system.
• Casework and case management across the service.
• Safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
• Oversee Home Sharing services and related activity.
• Deliver safeguarding training across the organisation.
• Manage a busy Duty Social Work service and respond to crises.
• Lead delegated functions within the Client Services Directorate, including admissions and service planning.
• Manage an agreed caseload of complex cases with professional guidance.
