Job summary

McCutcheon Halley in Dublin is seeking an Executive Planning Consultant to join our ambitious team. You will manage diverse planning projects from inception to decision, advise clients and work with multidisciplinary teams.

The role offers ownership, opportunities to mentor graduates, develop planning strategies, and contribute to the growth of the Dublin office within a supportive, collaborative environment and flexible hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or related discipline, preferably accredited by IPI or RTPI.
• At least 3 years' relevant professional planning experience, ideally including consulting.
• Strong understanding of the Irish planning system, legislation, policy and procedures.
• Experience preparing planning applications, reports and submissions.
• Strong analytical, written communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with clients, planning authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, take ownership of work and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, collaborative approach and interest in CPD.
• Membership in IPI or RTPI would be advantageous.
• Experience with GIS, CAD or other digital planning tools, including AI-assisted applications, would be welcome.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of planning projects from inception to completion.
• Provide planning advice to clients, identifying opportunities and constraints.
• Prepare planning reports, submissions and other technical documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and environmental specialists on multidisciplinary projects.
• Liaise with planning authorities and statutory bodies.
• Lead and participate in project meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Identify planning risks and contribute to commercially informed solutions.
• Assist in preparing fee proposals and managing project programmes and budgets.
• Mentor graduates and early-career planners.
• Contribute to business development and growth of the Dublin office.
