Job summary

Murphy in Cork seeks a Mechanical Project Manager to join the Energy and Industry team. You will provide technical input during tender development and lead project delivery, focusing on mechanical systems in energy, data centres and regulated pharma environments.

The role requires a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years in relevant roles, with experience managing commissioning, turnover and handover, and delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years in mechanical engineering or project management, preferably in energy, life sciences, data centre, pharma, or gas sectors.
• Experience in regulated/high-compliance environments with QA/QC requirements.
• Experience leading mechanical commissioning, turnover and handover, with documentation.
• Proven track record delivering multidisciplinary projects safely, on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily project activities to ensure safe and successful delivery.
• Manage site teams, engineers, contractors and subcontractors to meet objectives.
• Monitor progress against milestones and implement corrective actions.
• Chair project meetings and report to clients and senior management.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality and contractual requirements.
• Oversee labour, plant, materials and equipment for delivery and productivity.
• Review and approve work packs, risk assessments and project documentation.
• Manage budgets, forecasting and change control processes.
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues and delays.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities.
