Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Senior Engineer to work on nationwide energy and industry projects across Ireland. The role focuses on health, safety and environmental leadership, supervising engineers, and overseeing temporary works, material procurement, and site coordination.

The candidate will mentor staff, ensure quality drawings and specs, and maintain strong client relations while upholding company policies and procedures. Strong CAD and surveying skills are essential.

Qualifications

• CSCS card or equivalent competency certifications.
• 6–8 years on large site civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of concrete, earthworks and civils.
• Temporary works experience (TW Supervisor/Coordinator).
• Ability to lead, manage and mentor junior staff.
• Proven ability to implement safe construction procedures.
• Proficient in modern surveying and CAD techniques.

Responsibilities

• Establish and promote health, safety and environmental best practices.
• Supervise assistant and site engineers; assist with setting out methods.
• Assist with temporary works design schemes.
• Coach and develop key staff.
• Monitor work quality and compliance with company policies.
• Maintain relations with client, designer and supply chain.
• Ensure drawings and specs support construction; request missing info promptly.
• Communicate with foremen to ensure clear understanding of information.
• Oversee materials and plant selection for construction.
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements for works.
• Keep detailed daily site diaries and records of variations.
• Ensure inspection and test plans align with PMP/Specification.
