Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. Lead Mechanical Design Specialist to drive European chiller product design using Creo. Manage detailed 3D models, ensure compliance with European regulations and internal standards, and translate customer specs into manufacturable designs.

Based in Dublin, you will collaborate with Izmir and Nantes plants, guide junior designers, and uphold rigorous PDM documentation and change control in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5-10 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong Creo proficiency for 3D CAD design and drafting.
• Experience with PDM systems and engineering change processes.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, piping, assembly, and DFM.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design activities from concept through production release.
• Create and maintain 3D models and assemblies in Creo.
• Develop manufacturable designs aligned with production capabilities and DFM.
• Design and position major chiller components and subsystems.
• Collaborate with manufacturing plants in Izmir and Nantes to understand production constraints.
• Ensure designs are controlled within the PDM system with revision control.
• Work with teams to select components and materials.
• Mentor junior designers and drafters.
