Job summary

COWI A/S in Ireland is seeking a High Voltage Engineer to supervise the design of electrical transmission systems, including substations and HV cabling. The role involves collaboration with colleagues across our global hubs and a focus on delivering robust grid solutions.

You will work with 33-132 kV HV schemes, GIS/AIS gear, transformers up to 500 MVA, and CDM2015 compliance, while mentoring junior engineers and building client relationships. A hybrid work setup is available.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in electrical engineering or power systems.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
• Experience delivering HV designs for 33-132 kV systems and GIS/AIS equipment.
• Familiarity with Irish & UK DNO standards and National Grid authorisations.
• Experience coordinating designs with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of CDM2015 regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the design of electrical transmission systems including substations and HV cabling.
• Plan design work and deliverables with civil and MEP colleagues.
• Develop and technically assure HV design using relevant software.
• Ensure compliance with Irish/UK transmission standards.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary project aspects.
• Mentor junior team members in design.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
