Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Sr. Product Design Engineer with an Electrical Engineering background to lead the design and development of low voltage switchgear, power distribution cabinets, and LV panels for data centers.

You will test against latest codes, define specifications, and lead cross-functional teams from concept to implementation. You will collaborate with mechanical, structural, and QA/QC teams, working with global suppliers to ensure compliant, cost-effective designs across

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.
Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.

Responsibilities

Lead new product design and development for electrical power distribution equipment.
Define equipment specifications and evaluate design changes.
Collaborate with mechanical, structural, reliability, QA/QC, and compliance teams.
Prepare and review BOMs, layouts, assemblies, and electrical wiring drawings.
Coordinate with global suppliers and manufacturers for equipment and BOMs.
Ensure compliance with codes across countries and support multiple regions.
