Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Sr. Product Design Engineer for Electrical Products and Services to lead design and development of power distribution equipment for data centers, from concept to implementation.

Based in Dublin, you will define specifications for LV switchgear and panels, collaborate with mechanical, reliability, QA/QC, and supply chain teams, and ensure compliance with global standards. The role requires hands-on design experience and ability to drive projects across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop concepts into new products for data center power distribution.
• Lead new product design and define equipment specifications.
• Collaborate with mechanical, structural, reliability, QA/QC and compliance teams.
• Prepare, review and approve product design drawings and bill of materials.
• Define project scope and provide technical support during manufacturing phases.
• Work with field engineering to set up test processes and validate installation and performance.
• Be a leader within the group and cross-functional teams.
• Drive innovative, out-of-the-box solutions.
