Job summary

Amazon AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Design Electrical Engineer to join the EMEA team. You will lead design projects in operational data centers, remedy issues, upgrade infrastructure and add new services, serving as the go-to engineering resource from design through implementation.

You will collaborate with data center, server hardware, safety, field and controls teams, manage projects across regions, mentor junior engineers, and travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience as a resident engineer or hands-on design consultant.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
• Knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems design.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.
• Interface with internal and external data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
• Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions and act as a technical subject matter expert for your given discipline.
• Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover. Are detail and data oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes
• Have experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants. Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design)
• A day in the life: Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for various aspects of the data centers. You will mentor and oversee the work of junior engineers in your discipline. You will have the opportunity to work on projects locally and globally, with up to 25% travel.
