Job summary

Tandem Project Management Ltd. is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design for pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and medical device projects in Ireland.

You will drive design from concept through handover, coordinate with disciplines, and manage scope, budgets and schedules to meet client expectations. The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering and 7+ years of post-graduate project delivery experience, with strong knowledge of MV/LV distribution, UPS,

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years’ post graduate experience in project delivery, ideally in a medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrable technical knowledge of MV and LV power distribution, UPS systems, standby generators, cable containment, lighting and emergency lighting.
• Knowledge of Fire Alarm, Security, Earthing & Bonding, Gas Detection, Data/ICT, BMS/EMS.
• Working knowledge of Electrical regulations including IS10101, IS3218, IS3217 etc.
• Strong ability to perform cable calculations and discrimination studies (Amtech or similar).
• Project planning, design, cost control, and stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Electrical Design of projects from concept stages through to handover.
• Involved in preparation of cost estimates.
• Carry out site surveys when required.
• Manage scope, budget and timelines to meet client expectations.
• Help develop a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct peer reviews and check other engineers’ work.
• Assist with project schedules and monitor progress, ensuring critical path is maintained.
• Interface & coordination with other disciplines, project managers and project engineers across all projects.
