Job summary

Zohorecruit in Dublin 15, Ireland, seeks an Electrical Lead to deliver critical electrical systems on life sciences and technology projects. The role reports to the Project Director and partners with the MEP Lead to drive safety, quality and regulatory compliance across design, installation and commissioning.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, coordinate with clients and regulators, and ensure IST, FAT/SAT and handover processes meet project objectives while managing budget and programme

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Experience leading electrical delivery on Tier 1 construction or engineering projects.
• Relevant health and safety training (e.g. Safe Pass, CSCS or equivalent).

Responsibilities

The Electrical Lead will report to the Project Director and working in close partnership with the MEP Lead and Engineering Management team, the Electrical Lead is responsible for the overall delivery of electrical systems on life sciences and technology projects.

The role provides technical and managerial leadership, ensuring that all electrical works are designed, installed, tested and commissioned to the highest standards of safety, quality and compliance. The Electrical Lead ensures project objectives for programme, budget and regulatory requirements are met, while driving collaboration between engineering, construction, commissioning and client teams.

Leadership and Delivery

• Lead the electrical team and oversee delivery of all electrical systems including LV/MV distribution, UPS, generators, lighting, fire alarms and life safety systems
  
• Ensure all electrical works meet programme, cost and quality objectives
  
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to ensure effective delivery
  
• Develop and implement strategies for electrical execution, resource allocation and planning
  

Technical and Compliance Oversight

• Review and approve electrical design documents, technical submittals and material selections
  
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards and regulations (e.g. IEC, BS, IEEE, NFPA)
  
• Oversee FATs, SATs, commissioning and integrated system testing (IST) for electrical scope
  
• Support validation and handover processes with accurate documentation and system certification
  

Quality, Safety and Risk Management

• Drive health, safety and environmental compliance across all electrical works
  
• Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control procedures for electrical systems
  
• Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
  

Stakeholder and Team Coordination

• Act as the primary point of contact for electrical scope with clients, consultants and regulatory bodies
  
• Coordinate electrical works with mechanical, process, instrumentation and BMS teams to ensure project integration
  
• Lead electrical coordination meetings and provide accurate reporting on progress, risks and opportunities to project leadership
  

Experience

• Strong technical expertise in electrical systems including LV/MV distribution, critical power systems and life safety systems
  
• Proven leadership experience on large-scale Data centre construction or engineering projects
  
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex workloads
  
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels of delivery
  
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements for electrical works
  
• Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, data centre or advanced technology projects
  
• Knowledge of commissioning and integrated system testing (IST) in regulated environments
  
• Familiarity with BIM and digital project delivery tools
  
• Commercial awareness including contract administration and cost control
  

Qualifications
