Job summary

Eden Social Care is seeking a Deputy Manager for its Co. Carlow children's residential service. This leadership role steers a dedicated care team and shapes a safe, therapeutic environment for young people, under the supervision of the Service Manager.

We value trauma-informed, child-centered practice, with a focus on recruitment, staff development and HIQA standards. A Level 7 Social Care qualification and CORU registration are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a relevant qualification that meets CORU requirements for Social Care Worker registration.
• CORU registration or evidence that your registration application is being processed.
• At least 3 years' experience working directly with children and young people at Social Care Worker level.
• Experience supporting young people with complex or challenging behaviours.
• Experience working within a trauma-informed environment; crisis intervention experience is desirable.
• Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of HIQA National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres.
• A full, clean manual driving licence valid in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Support the Service Manager in the day-to-day running of the service.
• Lead, motivate and develop a dedicated care team.
• Promote a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for young people.
• Support trauma-informed and child-centred practice.
• Assist with recruitment, supervision, training and staff development.
• Support compliance with HIQA standards, legislation and organisational policies.
• Contribute to audits, quality improvement and service development.
• Support effective staffing, resources and budgets.
• Participate in the senior management on-call rota.
