AECOM is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead the technical delivery of civil infrastructure projects in Ireland. This role suits an experienced engineer who enjoys problem-solving, mentoring others, and guiding projects from early design to construction.

Our team covers drainage, highways, flood risk, and water infrastructure across Ireland and the U.K., with a strong focus on technical quality, collaboration, and practical engineering solutions in a flexible hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified Civil Engineer with Chartered status or working towards it.
• Experience delivering development infrastructure projects in Ireland or the U.K.
• Strong background in drainage, highways/pavements, flood risk, water infrastructure, and SuDS.
• Proficient with MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects from feasibility to construction.
• Act as technical lead and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver buildable solutions.
• Own technical quality, programme, and coordination on projects.
