Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead the technical delivery of civil infrastructure projects across Ireland. This role is suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys problem-solving, mentoring others, and seeing projects through from early design to construction.

Our team provides civil engineering services to developers, housebuilders, local authorities, and major clients across Ireland and the U.K., covering drainage, highways, flood risk and water infrastructure.

Qualifications

Degree-qualified Civil Engineer; Chartered or working towards Chartered status.
Demonstrable experience delivering development infrastructure projects in Ireland or the U.K.
Strong technical background in drainage, highways/pavements, flood risk, water infrastructure, and SuDS.
Comfortable using MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects from feasibility to construction.
Act as technical lead on projects, guiding junior engineers.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver buildable solutions.
Take ownership of technical quality, programme, and coordination on projects.
