Job summary

Bluebird Care Ireland in Mayo is seeking a Care Supervisor to lead and develop our team of Health and Social Care Assistants in a full-time Mayo-based role. You will oversee client care, ensure high standards and compliance, and collaborate with Care Managers and senior management to deliver safe, quality services.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in senior care, QQI Level 5 in healthcare, strong leadership and communication skills, and a passion for person-centred care.

Qualifications

• QQI/FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare/Health Care Skills or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in home care, healthcare or a related senior care role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular care supervision visits in clients' homes and across various practice settings.
• Mentor, support and develop Health and Social Care Assistants through supervision, guidance and feedback.
• Participate in care activities as part of the supervision and quality‑assurance process.
• Develop, review and monitor client care and support plans, ensuring they reflect individual care needs.
• Assess risk assessments, care plans and relevant documentation, following up with the Care Manager or Clinical Lead where required.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date supervision and client records.
• Support new client case setups and ensure appropriate care arrangements are in place.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, families and Care Assistants.
• Ensure care delivery meets HSE, HCCI, ISO, franchise and company standards.
• Identify training and development needs and support staff to deliver best‑practice, person-centred care.
• Report and consult with senior management regarding clinical or care‑related concerns.
• Organise workloads effectively and respond appropriately to changing client needs and emergencies.
