Job summary

Weltec is seeking a Lead BIM Coordinator to lead BIM and engineering coordination across multiple projects, ensuring deliverables meet client requirements and standards.

The role manages BIM Detailers and engineers, coordinating with clients and subcontractors to promote digital delivery while advancing off-site manufacturing and best-practice approaches.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of BIM processes and project delivery.
• Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, ACC/BIM 360.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, schematics and technical specifications
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating contractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery of BIM and engineering coordination across multiple projects.
• Manage and coordinate a team of BIM Detailers, Engineers and Support Staff.
• Monitor workload, performance and progress to meet schedule and quality.
• Review and coordinate design information including layouts, P&IDs, schematics and specs.
• Identify design gaps and drive their resolution.
• Oversee model federation, clash detection and coordination reviews.
• Host and chair weekly coordination meetings with teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Perform model quality assurance reviews to meet client specs and standards.
• Support transition of construction activities into Off-Site Manufacturing and digital workflows.
• Capture and share lessons learned from completed projects.

Job description

To lead and coordinate BIM, engineering and digital construction activities across assigned projects, ensuring that design information, BIM deliverables and project documentation are developed, coordinated and issued in accordance with client requirements, project schedules and company standards.

The Lead BIM Coordinator will manage a multidisciplinary team of BIM Detailers, Engineers and Technical Support personnel, driving collaboration between internal teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery while promoting innovation, continuous improvement and digital best practice.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Lead the day-to-day delivery of BIM and engineering coordination activities across multiple projects.
• Manage and coordinate a team of BIM Detailers, Engineers and Support Staff, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to meet project milestones and deliverables.
• Monitor team workload, performance and progress to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and to the required quality standards.
• Review and coordinate design information including Layout Drawings, LSPs (Layout and Services Plans), Schematics, P&IDs, Equipment Data Sheets and supporting engineering documentation.
• Identify design gaps, constructability concerns and coordination issues at an early stage and drive their resolution.
• Oversee model federation, clash detection and coordination reviews using industry-standard BIM software.
• Host and chair weekly coordination meetings with project teams, consultants, clients and subcontractors.
• Perform model quality assurance reviews and ensure BIM deliverables meet client specifications and company standards.
• Support the transition of suitable construction activities into Off-Site Manufacturing and digital delivery workflows.
• Capture and share lessons learned from completed projects to improve future project delivery.
