Job summary

Douglas Control and Automation in Cork, Ireland, is seeking a Control Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You will take technical ownership of projects, work directly with customers and suppliers, and mentor engineers across the team.

The role requires strong PLC programming, HMI/SCADA configuration, system testing and commissioning, with experience in manufacturing, food & beverage, water/wastewater, pharmaceutical or medical device environments preferred.

Qualifications

• Engineering or related degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years' experience in industrial automation in relevant sectors.
• Proven PLC and HMI/SCADA experience.
• Experience with testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with customers and suppliers through the project lifecycle.
• Develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC programmes.
• Configure and develop HMI/SCADA systems.
• Configure Historian systems and generate reports as required.
• Carry out system testing, commissioning and qualification activities.
• Prepare, review and maintain validation documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the engineering team.
• Take technical ownership of assigned projects and ensure on-time delivery.
