Job summary

Occu, managing over 4,500 houses and apartments in Dublin, is hiring a Landscaping Operative to maintain grounds across our developments. You will be the familiar face residents see while keeping gardens neat.

The role is full-time, based on-site with a company van, PPE, and modern equipment. At least two years in gardening or grounds maintenance, plus a B driving licence, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Around 2 years of gardening/grounds maintenance/landscaping experience, or a horticultural qualification.
• Full B driving licence.
• Reliable and able to work on your own initiative and communicate with residents.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, strimming and edging lawns around paths, flower beds and walls.
• Planting seasonal flowers, shrubs and grass; weeding and general garden maintenance.
• Spotting maintenance needs early and arranging fixes.
• Operating and maintaining machinery, including basic servicing.

We are hiring a Landscaping Operative to keep our developments looking their best, and to be a familiar, friendly face to the people who live in them. If your background is in gardening, landscaping or grounds maintenance, this is the job for you.

What you will be doing:

Looking after the grounds and gardens across our Dublin developments:

• Mowing, strimming and edging, keeping lawns in good order around paths, flower beds and walls.
• Planting seasonal flowers, shrubs and grass, along with weeding and general garden maintenance.
• Spotting what needs doing before anyone has to ask, and getting it sorted.
• Operating the machinery and keeping it right, including basic servicing.

Also part of the job:

These are residential sites, so overall presentation matters:

• Power washing, soft washing and algae treatment on paths and patios.
• Applying salt and grit to car park ramps and walkways during cold spells.
• Window cleaning, and keeping the grounds clear of litter.

What we are looking for:

• Around 2 years of experience in gardening, grounds maintenance or landscaping, or a horticultural qualification and the appetite to learn quickly.
• A full B driving licence.
• Someone dependable who works well on their own initiative.
• Comfortable having a chat with residents, because you will be seeing the same faces every week.

Where you will be working:

Occu developments across Dublin. You will be outdoors, moving between our sites in the company van.
