Eurofins Biopharma Product Testing invites applications for a Laboratory Technician to join the Molecular Cell Biology team in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.

The role involves performing trained testing activities and supporting daily lab operations to uphold quality and accuracy standards. Key requirements include a minimum level 6 qualification in a scientific discipline, GMP lab experience preferred, and familiarity with BSL2 or cleanroom environments, aseptic techniques, and cell-based assays.

Qualifications

• Minimum level 6 qualification in scientific discipline.
• GMP laboratory experience is an advantage.
• Experience with BSL2 requirements or cleanroom, aseptic techniques and cell-based assays is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing activities for which training has been completed.
• Maintain training records and ensure procedures are followed.
• Assist with lab upkeep, stock ordering and housekeeping to keep labs in optimal condition.
• Provide cover for other staff when required and training allows.
• Adhere to safety, quality and housekeeping standards and identify opportunities for improvements.

We currently have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our Molecular Cell Biology team in Dungarvan Co. Waterford.

The purpose of this job is tocarry out testing as trained and perform required laboratory tasks (lab support) to ensure the area functions efficiently and company quality and accuracy standards are upheld.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform competently all testing activities for which training has been completed
• To be responsible for proficiency in certain procedures / training modules as specified in their training plan.
• To act on their own initiative to ensure efficiencies in laboratory and that client needs being met – including reorder of stock, housekeeping activities to ensure labs in optimal working conditions. Escalation of any note equipment issue etc.
• To perform techniques / tests that they are qualified to do in terms of completed training records and as directed by the laboratory senior.
• Training other lab technician’s/ laboratory assistants if and when required on techniques / tests for which they have approved training records.
• To provide cover for other members of staff as required and as training allows.
• To keep their training records up to date and to initiate training as per their training plan where possible when free from work.
• To adhere to all company standards in the area of safety, housekeeping and quality, notifying management of any discrepancies.
• To identify any opportunities for improvement of quality and service and work with the team to implement continuous improvement.
• To participate in the company On-Call / Call out rota as required.
• Shift change may be required depending on the needs of the laboratory, this can include a change in working days and/or daily shift hours.
• Raise and implement process improvements as appropriate
