Job summary

Eurofins Biomnis Ireland is recruiting for a Laboratory Technician – AutoLab to join the Blood Science team at the Sandyford lab in Dublin. The role focuses on delivering a safe, accurate medical laboratory service and supporting Biomedical Scientists.

You will assist with receipt, preparation, processing and storage of patient samples, while maintaining high standards of quality, confidentiality and health and safety. Training and development support is provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Biological Science.
• Experience in a laboratory, healthcare, sample-processing or other regulated environment is desirable.
• Knowledge of health and safety, good documentation practice and sample handling.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

To support the delivery of a safe, accurate and efficient medical laboratory service. The Laboratory Technician will assist with the receipt, preparation, processing and storage of patient samples in accordance with approved procedures. The role will support Biomedical Scientists and other laboratory colleagues while maintaining high standards of quality, confidentiality, health and safety and customer service

• To assist Eurofins in maintaining a high standard in medical testing.
• Provide support to clients and colleagues to ensure a first-class service.
• To maintain and enhance their professional knowledge and skills as required.
• Work with colleagues to contribute towards the continuous improvement of the department.
• Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the mission and values of Eurofins
• Assist in the organisation of workload, prioritising tasks to ensure the effective running of the department.

Qualifications

Education:

• Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Biological Science

Experience

• Previous experience in a laboratory, healthcare, sample-processing or other regulated environment is desirable.
• Experience of following written procedures and maintaining accurate records is desirable.
• Appropriate transferable experience may be considered.

Knowledge

• Working knowledge of laboratory health and safety, confidentiality and good documentation practice.
• Working knowledge of sample handling and the importance of accurate patient/sample identification.
• Awareness of quality systems and the importance of following SOPs in a medical laboratory.
