Job summary

The IAS Laboratories division of Cawood Scientific is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to join our expanding testing team in Ireland. You will perform routine laboratory analyses, manage data in the LIMS, and contribute to quality and compliance with ISO 17025 standards.

Ideal candidates hold a science diploma or degree and have 1–2 years of relevant lab experience, with good English, and competence in Excel, Word, and LIMS.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a science discipline preferable.
• 1–2 years of work experience in a relevant laboratory area preferred.
• Good level of spoken and written English.
• Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
• Any experience deemed suitable by management (Cawood Directors or Site Lead).

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory analysis and ensure quality compliance.
• Input correct results onto the LIMS system.
• Maintain cleanliness and 5's in the work area; monitor stock levels of chemicals/consumables.
• Filing of worksheets and documentation as necessary.

This role is located in our business unit, IAS Laboratories, within the Cawood ScientificAgriculture Division. Core Responsibilities

The Laboratory Technician I is responsible for performing laboratory analysis and ensuring quality compliance. Specific responsibilities include:

Laboratory Work and Data Management

• Preparatory work for samples that require testing.
• Performing laboratory testing, including common parameters such as: pH, Conductivity, Turbidity, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Suspended Solids, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Organic Matter, Kjeldahl Nitrogen and more.
• Inputting of the correct results onto the LIMS system.
• Kaisen mindset.

Quality and Compliance

• Ensuring ongoing compliance with the requirements of ISO 17025:2017.
• Bringing any non-conformances or potential areas of improvementto the attention of the Analytical Lead and or Site Responsible Person (SRP)
• Completion of quality recordsas necessary.
• Filing of work sheets.

Maintenance and Inventory

• Cleanlinessof their work area and equipment used.
• Implementation of 5’s system.
• Monitoring stock levels of chemicals/consumablesused.
• Correct storage of samples.
