Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Industries, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician I in Ireland to perform routine laboratory analysis and ensure quality compliance.

The role requires a science qualification and 1–2 years of relevant experience, with a good command of English. You will work with LIMS, MS Excel and Word, handling samples, data management and stock control in a structured lab environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in science required or preferred.
• 1–2 years of lab experience preferred.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word and LIMS.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory analysis and ensure quality compliance.
• Carry out preparatory work for samples and testing.
• Perform tests including pH, Conductivity, Turbidity, TDS, COD, BOD, Kjeldahl Nitrogen and more.
• Input results into the LIMS system.
• Maintain quality records and compliance with ISO 17025:2017.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure proper storage of chemicals.

Laboratory Technician I

Key Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: A diploma or a degree in a science discipline is preferable.
• Experience: Preferably 1-2 years of work experience in the relevant laboratory area.
• Language: A good level of spoken and written English.
• IT Skills: Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
• Suitability: Any experience deemed suitable by management (Cawood Directors or Site Lead).

Core Responsibilities

The Laboratory Technician I is responsible for performing laboratory analysis and ensuring quality compliance.

• Laboratory Work and Data Management
• Preparatory work for samples that require testing.
• Performing laboratory testing, including common parameters such as: pH, Conductivity, Turbidity, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Suspended Solids, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Organic Matter, Kjeldahl Nitrogen and more.
• Inputting of the correct results onto the LIMS system.
• Kaisen mindset.
• Quality and Compliance
• Ensuring ongoing compliance with the requirements of ISO 17025:2017.
• Bringing any non-conformances or potential areas of improvement to the attention of the Analytical Lead and or Site Responsible Person (SRP)
• Completion of quality records as necessary.
• Filing of work sheets.
• Maintenance and Inventory
• Cleanliness of their work area and equipment used.
• Implementation of 5's system.
• Monitoring stock levels of chemicals/consumables used.
• Correct storage of samples.
