Job summary

Eurofins Biomnis Ireland, based in Sandyford, Dublin 18, is seeking a Medical Scientist / Biomedical Scientist – AutoLab to join the Blood Science team on site. The role involves automated Haematology, Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay analysis, plus manual differential work and data review.

You will contribute to ISO 15189 quality management, participate in CPD activities, and develop your professional skills within a supportive, diverse team with a strong rewards package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Science or BioMedical Science.
• Relevant experience in a multidisciplinary medical laboratory.
• CORU registration as a Medical Scientist or HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.

Responsibilities

• Perform automated Haematology, Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay analyses.
• Carry out manual differential analysis and sample preparation.
• Evaluate and authorise results and maintain quality procedures.
• Contribute to ISO 15189 quality management and continuous improvement.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

The Medical Scientist/Biomedical Scientist will have responsibility for performing automated Haematology, Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay analysis together with blood parasitology; Manual differential analysis and sample preparation; Clinical Chemistry and Haematology analysis. Evaluation and authorisation of results. Carrying out clerical and technical tasks in accordance with sample handling procedures, maintaining policies and procedures, review and update as required. While workingwith colleagues to contribute towards the continuous improvement of the department. Participate in the development and maintenance of the ISO 15189 quality management system which is patient centred and ensures quality focused results are provided for patient care and to assist in the Total Quality Improvement of the department.

• To assist Eurofins in maintaining a high standard in medical testing.
• Provide support to clients and colleagues to ensure a first-class service.
• To maintain and enhance their professional knowledge and skills as required.
• Work with colleagues to contribute towards the continuous improvement of the department.
• Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the mission and values of Eurofins
• Assist in the organisation of workload, prioritising tasks to ensure the effective running of the department.
• Observe the strictest confidence when dealing with all aspects of patient and Company information.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Science or BioMedical Science

Experience:

• Relevant experience in a multidisciplinary medical laboratory

Required licences / certifications or membership:

• CORU registration as a Medical scientist or HCPC registration as a Biomedical scientist
