Job summary

Quintessential Brands Group is seeking a Laboratory Technician for First Ireland Spirits in Ireland. You will conduct routine testing on ingredients and finished products to ensure quality and consistency, supporting the production team with quality checks and documentation.

You will work in a fast-paced production environment, contributing to continuous improvement projects and maintaining high standards across processes, with training provided and a focus on accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Food Science or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good basic maths and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork.
  • Organised and able to work to demanding production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct chemical analyses on in-process and finished products.
  • Perform organoleptic evaluations and shelf-life testing.
  • Test incoming raw materials for quality.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.

A Taste For The Job

As our Laboratory Technician at First Ireland Spirits, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the exceptional quality of our award-winning liqueurs. Working at the heart of production, you'll conduct routine testing and analysis on ingredients and finished products, ensuring every bottle meets the high standards our brands are known for.

From chemical testing to sensory evaluation, you'll help maintain product consistency, support the production team with regular quality checks, and contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance our processes and safeguard our reputation for excellence.

Your Impact Will Include
  • Product Testing – Conduct chemical analyses on in-process and finished products, including tests for alcohol, fat (Gerber), particle size, viscosity, pH, and specific gravity.
  • Quality Control – Perform organoleptic evaluations, hot spin and shelf-life testing, and bottle pour assessments.
  • Ingredient Verification – Test incoming raw materials to ensure all ingredients meet quality standards before use.
  • Equipment Care – Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments to ensure accuracy, cleanliness, and readiness.
  • Collaboration – Partner with production and quality teams to resolve issues and maintain best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement – Participate in projects that refine processes and enhance quality systems throughout the production process.
