Job summary

Eurofins Biopharma Product Testing Ireland in Dungarvan, Co Waterford, is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support Molecular Cell Biology operations and ensure efficient processing of customer samples.

The role requires a Leaving Cert, a full driving license, and strong teamwork and communication skills. GMP/aseptic knowledge is preferred, with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. On-site position with opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Leaving Cert required.
• Full driver's license required.
• GMP experience or knowledge preferred.
• Aseptic techniques knowledge beneficial.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Proficient in PC use (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping in assigned department/area and keep equipment clean and tidy.
• Provide laboratory/area support through stock management, reagent prep, equipment calibration and checks.
• Perform waste disposal duties as necessary.
• Complete documentation to ALCOA+ standards.
• Order and maintain inventory of lab supplies (PPE, consumables, reagents).
• Maintain training records and complete EtQ training on time.
• Adhere to safety, housekeeping and quality standards and notify management of discrepancies.
• Be flexible to work in any area of the business to meet customer needs.
• Participate in the On-Call/Call out rota.
• Flexibility in changing days/hours as needed by the lab.

Job Description

We are actively seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our Molecular Cell Biology team in Dungarvan, Co Waterford the role will support appropriate site operations to enable efficient and right first processing of customer samples throughout the relevant laboratory.

• General housekeeping activities in assigned department/ area, including keeping area clean and tidy and cleaning laboratory equipment etc. as required (e.g. refrigerators, incubators, stability chambers).
• Provision of laboratory/ area support to the team, through stock management, reagent preparation, equipment calibration and checks.
• Performing waste disposal duties as necessary.
• Completion of all documentation to required standard (ALCOA+).
• Order and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, including PPE, consumables, and reagents, to support routine laboratory activities
• Upkeep of training records and completion of all EtQ training on time.
• Adhering to all company standards in the area of safety, housekeeping and quality, notifying management of any discrepancies.
• Flexibility ensuring that customers’ requirements are fully met and in so doing will be flexible to work in any area of the business as is required.
• To participate in the company On-Call / Call out rota as required.
• Flexibility may be required depending on the needs of the laboratory, this can include a change in working days and/or change in hours.

GMP experience/knowledge is preferred but not essential

Knowledge/experience with aseptic techniques

Good team player

Good communication skills both internally and externally
