Job summary

Aramark Ireland is looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our team in Galway. You will help ensure food hygiene, check in deliveries, store food correctly, and carry out cleaning and safety tasks to support smooth kitchen operations.

The role requires a keen interest in food and service, flexibility in hours, initiative, and knowledge of HACCP. This is a hands-on position in a busy kitchen with room for growth and development.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HACCP and food hygiene practices.
• Interest in food and service.
• Flexible hours and shift availability.
• Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all food hygiene regulations are adhered to, in particular HACCP regulations
• Checking in of food deliveries ensuring that only the highest standard of produce is accepted into the units.
• Ensuring that all food storage complies with food hygiene regulations and that FIFO stock rotation system is being followed
• Cleaning duties associated with service and related equipment and/or furniture
• Correct storage of food items and equipment after service
• Maintain personal hygiene, appearance and uniform to company regulations at all times
• Comply and assist in the promotion and implementation of the company’s health and safety policy
• Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures.
• Be aware of safety hazards within the kitchen and surrounding areas and to report them to your line manager
• Other duties assigned by your line manager from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the department.
