Job summary

Nove is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team in Malahide. You’ll support the chefs, maintain hygiene standards, and help keep service flowing smoothly.

Responsibilities include washing pots, keeping surfaces clean, assisting with basic prep, receiving deliveries, managing waste, and reporting equipment issues to the Head Chef. The role requires flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience an advantage but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

• Keeping kitchen surfaces, floors and equipment clean and sanitised.
• Assisting chefs with basic food prep as needed.

• Maintaining cleanliness in line with HACCP and food safety standards.
• Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Reporting any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the Head Chef.

About the Role

Nove is looking for a reliable, hard-working Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. You'll play a key role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly — supporting the chefs, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring service flows without a hitch.

Key Responsibilities

• Washing pots, pans, utensils, and crockery efficiently during and after service
• Keeping kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment clean and sanitised
• Assisting chefs with basic food prep (peeling, chopping, portioning) as needed
• Receiving and storing deliveries correctly (stock rotation, cold storage, dry goods)
• Managing waste and recycling in line with kitchen procedures
• Maintaining cleanliness in line with HACCP and food safety standards
• Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy service periods
• Reporting any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the Head Chef

Requirements

• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience an advantage but not essential
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and pride in cleanliness
• Good team player with a positive, flexible attitude
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
• Basic food safety awareness (HACCP training a plus, or willingness to complete)
