Job summary

BaxterStorey is looking for a Kitchen Porter to keep our kitchens organized and running like a well-oiled machine in Ireland. You will wash dishes, help prep ingredients, maintain cleanliness, and assist with inventory under the guidance of senior chefs.

Qualifications

• No formal education is required; understanding of the role is helpful and catering/kitchen experience would be a plus.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing - Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers.
• Kitchen Cleanliness - Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces and prep areas; manage waste.
• Food Preparation - Assist chefs with basic prep tasks like peeling, chopping, and slicing.
• Inventory Management - Receive, store and organise kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Compliance with Health and safety - Maintain cleanliness and ensure equipment works properly.

Hours: 40 hours, Monday-Sunday fully flexible

Salary: €14.30 p/hour (enhanced rate available for unsociable hours)

Job Description

• Dishwashing - Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness - Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation -Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory Management - Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety - maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order
