Job summary

BaxterStorey Ireland is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support our busy Cork kitchen. This permanent, full-time role offers 39 hours per week at €14.50 per hour, located at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Ballintemple, Co. Cork, Ireland.

The position may require work at other Cork locations. Responsibilities include dishwashing, maintaining cleanliness, basic food prep and inventory support, with a strong emphasis on health and safety.

Qualifications

• Stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain cleanliness.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment by hand or machine.
• Clean and sanitise surfaces, countertops and prep areas.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks (peeling, chopping, slicing).
• Receive, store and organise kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Maintain health and safety and keep equipment in good condition.
• Manage goods in and out.

Job Description

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order
• Goods in and out

Qualifications

• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
