Job summary

Castleknock Hotel in Dublin 15 is seeking a friendly Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team. You will support chefs, manage high-volume periods, and help maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety standards.

We value reliability and a proactive attitude. Shifts include early starts and late finishes; own transport is helpful for shift times. Competitive benefits and opportunities for progression within FBD Hotels & Resorts are on offer.

Qualifications

• Have at least 2 years of experience in a fast paced environment with a high volume covers.
• Engage well within the team to provide support to the Chef team.
• Excellent HACCP knowledge and adherence to food safety standards.
• Be adaptable to change and work well under pressure.
• Be organised and able to prioritise tasks; commit to the team and colleagues.
• Flexible with working hours, including weekends and early/late shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen team to support chefs and maintain smooth service.
• Keep work areas clean, tidy and stocked with needed supplies.
• Assist with basic food preparation and plating as required.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and safety protocols at all times.
• Adapt to different kitchen sections and communicate clearly with staff.

This role will include very early starts or late finishes, it is desirable for applicants to have their own transport as the shifts do not align with public transport access times.

What the role is:

As Kitchen porter you will:

• Have at least 2 years of experience working in a fast paced environment with a high volume covers
• Engage well within the team to provide support to the Chef team
• Have excellent HACCP knowledge
• Have the ability to adapt to change
• Work well under pressure in each area of the Kitchen when required
• Be organised and have the ability to prioritise tasks where required
• Be committed to the team and supporting your colleagues
• Be flexible with working hours (must be available for weekends and early/late shifts)
