Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a Kitchen Porter to help run a well-organised, clean kitchen that supports our hospitality team in Dublin. You will contribute to dishwashing, cleanliness, basic food preparation, inventory, and health and safety to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment by hand or with industrial dishwashers.
• Kitchen cleanliness – Clean and sanitise surfaces, countertops and food prep areas; manage waste disposal.
• Food preparation – Assist chefs with basic prep tasks like peeling, chopping and slicing ingredients.
• Inventory management – Assist in receiving, storing and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Health and safety – Maintain cleanliness and safe operation of kitchen equipment.
• Goods in and out.

Job Description

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation –Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order
• Goods in and out

Qualifications

• No formal education is required
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
