Job summary

Fallon & Byrne in Dublin's premier food destination is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen production team. You will support the preparation and production of sandwiches, prepared meals and other items for our Food Hall, with training provided to develop skills across areas.

The role emphasizes following recipes and quality standards, working with the Kitchen Supervisor, and maintaining high food safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the kitchen production team with the preparation and production of a range of food products, including sandwiches, prepared meals and other food items.
  • Following recipes, preparation methods, instructions and required quality standards.
  • Supporting different areas of food preparation and production as required, with opportunities to develop new skills and take on additional responsibilities over time.
  • Following HACCP, food safety, allergen management, hygiene and stock rotation procedures.
  • Maintaining clean, organised and hygienic work areas, equipment and utensils.
  • Working efficiently during busy production periods while maintaining food safety and quality standards.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and communicating clearly with supervisors regarding production requirements, issues or concerns.
  • Following company health and safety procedures, including the safe use of kitchen equipment and appropriate manual handling practices.
  • Assisting with stock, storage, packaging, labelling and minimising food waste where required.
  • Attending relevant training, developing knowledge and skills, and carrying out other reasonable duties consistent with the role as required.

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen production team.

The Kitchen Assistant will support the preparation and production of a range of food products for our food hall, including sandwiches, prepared meals and other food items.

This is an opportunity for someone who is interested in developing their skills within food production and learning different areas of the kitchen operation. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, contribute to different areas of the team and take on additional responsibilities as their skills and experience develop.

You will work closely with the Kitchen Supervisor and other members of the kitchen team and will receive training and support to develop your knowledge and skills within the role.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen, food production, catering, hospitality or food service environment would be beneficial but is not essential, depending on the requirements of the role.

We welcome candidates with experience across different food preparation or production environments, as well as candidates who are looking to develop their experience within food production.

Knowledge or experience of HACCP and food safety procedures would also be beneficial.

Training will be provided where required to support you in carrying out the duties of the role safely and effectively.
