Job summary

CREGG in Co Galway is seeking a motivated Junior Purchasing Manager to join our procurement team. This role supports supplier relationships, processes orders, and monitors stock to ensure cost-efficient purchasing.

You will work closely with colleagues to source suppliers, obtain quotations, raise purchase orders, and help maintain pricing databases. A proactive, detail-oriented candidate with strong IT skills will excel.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day purchasing and procurement of goods, materials and services.
  • Source new suppliers and obtain quotations to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
  • Raise and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and support negotiations on pricing, terms and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor stock levels and work closely with relevant departments to ensure adequate supply.
  • Track orders and deliveries, resolving any delays, shortages or discrepancies.
  • Compare supplier prices and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information and pricing databases.
  • Assist with reviewing supplier performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the Purchasing Manager and wider team with procurement projects and administrative duties.
  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company procedures and policies.

We are seeking a motivated and organised Junior Purchasing Manager to join our team in Co Galway.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative, analytical and negotiation skills who is looking to develop their career within purchasing and procurement.

The successful candidate will support the purchasing function by managing supplier relationships, processing orders, monitoring stock levels and ensuring goods and services are purchased efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, administration or a similar role is desirable.

  • Ability to build positive working relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop within the role.
