Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician for the evening shift to maintain and optimise specialist production equipment. You will perform planned preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and document maintenance per site procedures.

You will collaborate with equipment manufacturers and senior staff to resolve complex problems and drive equipment improvements while upholding the highest health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical or maintenance engineering qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Working knowledge of electro-mechanical systems; site-specific controls training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise specialist production equipment during the evening shift (Mon–Thu, 4.30pm–3am).
• Execute planned preventative maintenance schedules and keep detailed maintenance records.
• Collaborate with equipment manufacturers and senior team members to resolve issues and implement improvements.
• Champion on-site safety and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Manage core mechanical alignments and configurations to support high-quality production.

About Your New Job

• As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and optimisation of specialist production equipment during the evening shift (Monday – Thursday, 4.30pm to 3am).
• You will execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules, troubleshoot technical issues, and keep detailed maintenance records in line with site procedures.
• Collaborate with equipment manufacturers and senior team members to resolve complex issues and implement equipment improvements.
• Champion on-site safety, ensuring all activities comply with the highest health and safety standards.
• Manage core mechanical alignments and configurations to support high-quality product manufacturing.

What Skills You Need

• Recognised Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Working knowledge of electro‑mechanical systems (full training will be given for site‑specific controls).
• Previous experience in manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, particularly under time pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and solid awareness of health and safety regulations.
• Willingness to work evening shifts and contribute in a team environment.
