Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our operations team. You will be responsible for planned maintenance, quick response to breakdowns, and ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently.

The role requires strong mechanical knowledge, fault-finding ability, and the capacity to read drawings and manuals. You will work with production colleagues, support documentation, and participate in health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Maintenance Technician or similar engineering role, preferably within food production or manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of machinery and production equipment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to shift work, including weekends, with availability for emergency call-outs when required.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Equipment Repair: Carry out planned maintenance activities and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to reduce production downtime.
• Fault Finding & Diagnostics: Identify, investigate, and resolve mechanical issues to maintain smooth production processes.
• Preventive Maintenance: Complete scheduled maintenance programmes to enhance equipment reliability and extend operational life.
• Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with production and maintenance colleagues to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
• Documentation & Inventory Control: Keep accurate maintenance records and assist with monitoring spare parts and stock levels.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety procedures and industry regulations, helping to maintain a safe working environment.
