Job summary

Protex AI Limited in Dublin is seeking an entry-level IT Security Analyst to join our fast-growing team. You will support daily IT operations, manage user lifecycle, devices, and security tooling under the Head of Security, Risk & Compliance.

This role offers hands-on exposure to ISO 27001 maintenance, SOC 2 Type I readiness, and security governance in a high-growth startup. Graduate candidates are welcome and you will develop practical skills across security operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in CS/IT/Cybersecurity or related field; entry-level.
• Foundational understanding of IT operations, networking concepts, and macOS/Windows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a strong customer-service focus.

Responsibilities

• User lifecycle management: provisioning/de-provisioning systems access and devices.
• Device, asset management: provisioning laptops to security baselines and maintaining inventory.
• Security monitoring and triage: review alerts and logs for escalation.
• Vulnerability support: assist with findings across apps/infrastructure.
• GRC/compliance support: assist with evidence for SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
• Vendor risk: perform initial security reviews of third-party DPAs.
• Client assurance: respond to security questionnaires.
• Tooling implementation: deploy and configure security tools (VPN, EDR, DLP, MDM).
• Secure enablement: ensure new tools meet security baselines before go-live.
• Process automation: improve IT security ops efficiency.

Role Overview

The IT Security Analyst will be a critical, hands-on resource responsible for the daily operations and administration of Protex AI's internal IT environment and core security tooling. Reporting to the Head of Security, Risk & Compliance, this role's primary mission is to provide support for day-to-day IT operations, and to support the advancement of our strategic compliance initiatives (ISO 27001 certification maintenance, SOC 2 Type I audit readiness targeting completion in 2026, and preparation for ISO 42001).

The ideal candidate is a highly organised and technically curious individual, ready to take ownership of vital operational processes in a high-growth environment. This is an exciting entry level role which will give a recent graduate experience of an IT Security function in a fast-scaling start up.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Security Analyst will manage the operational security and IT needs, ensuring efficiency and control across the organization:

• User Lifecycle Management: Assist with the entire employee lifecycle, including timely and secure provisioning and de-provisioning of systems access, network access, and end-user equipment.

• Device & Asset Management: Configure, provision, and de-provision employee laptops to security baselines. Maintain and update the hardware and software asset inventory to ensure licensing and compliance.

• Security Monitoring & Triage: Monitor and perform initial triage of security alerts, logs and dashboards from various tools, for escalation to the Head of Security.

• Vulnerability Support: Conduct initial assessment and triage of vulnerability scanning tool findings across applications and infrastructure, supporting the vulnerability management program.

• GRC and Compliance Support: Assist the Head of Security in gathering, documenting, and organising evidence required for external audits - including Protex AI's first SOC 2 Type I audit, and ongoing ISO 27001 certification maintenance - as well as assisting in the implementation of other key compliance initiatives.

• Vendor & Third-Party Risk Support: Conduct initial security and data processing agreement (DPA) reviews of third-party vendors, escalating risk findings to the Head of Security.

• Client Assurance Support: Be the internal point of contact for client security due diligence questionnaires.

• Tooling Implementation: Assist with the deployment, configuration, and integration of operational security solutions (e.g., VPN, EDR, DLP, MDM).

• Secure Business Enablement: Support business units in securely configuring newly acquired software and setting up third-party integrations, ensuring new tools meet Protex AI's security baseline before go-live.

• Process Automation: Improve the efficiency of current internal IT Security operations.

• Helpdesk & Triage (L1/L2): Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day operational issues, including password resets, access issues, and basic troubleshooting, minimising employee downtime.

Requirements

• Experience & Education: A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field. This is an entry-level position; graduate candidates are welcome.

• Technical Aptitude: Foundational understanding of core IT operations, networking concepts, and operating systems (macOS and Windows).

• Service & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on customer service and empathy for end-users.

• Organisational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks, prioritise effectively, and maintain meticulous documentation. Proactive and self-motivated by nature, a "doer".

• Security Curiosity: A demonstrated, self-driven interest in the cybersecurity landscape, risk management, or regulatory compliance frameworks.

• Cloud Service Providers: Familiarity with AWS and their services.

Desirable Skills (a plus)

• Familiarity with modern Identity Providers (IdP) like Okta, Azure AD, or Google Workspace.

• Adept at using AI tools to automate processes and repetitive tasks.

• Basic scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for process automation.
