Job summary

NNIT is seeking a Junior Install and Commissioning Systems Engineer in Limerick to join our on-site team. You will contribute to commissioning, installation and support of automation and control systems, ensuring compliant operation and reliability.

Ideal candidates hold a B.Sc. in Mechatronics or related field, have hands-on manufacturing or pharma/GMP exposure, and possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. in Mechatronics or equivalent is required.
  • Experience with automation and control systems in manufacturing, pharma, or GMP environments.
  • Hands-on commissioning, installation and maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • On-site commissioning and installation of automation systems.
  • Review and follow SOPs for tasks and ensure compliance.
  • Support plant automation systems and ensure cybersecurity controls are in place.
  • Assist in CAPA investigations and validation of automated processes.

Junior Install and Commissioning Systems Engineer

Role Brief:

The successfulcandidate will be responsible forcommissioning, installation and support of automation and control systems. Thecandidate must possess the technical expertise to maintain, develop,troubleshoot, and validate these systems in a compliant manner.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Underthe guidance of your line manager, carry out all automation systemsfocused tasks on site to meet operational or project requirements.
  • Reviewand consulting SOP’s for any job task you may carry out and ensure youfully understand and adhere to the SOP.
  • Workin accordance with plant demand and available manpower to ensure thedelivery of all required automation systems solutions.
  • Ensureall efforts are made to reduce cost by improving efficiencies.
  • Ensurewhen faults occur ensure adjustments are made and checks carried out untilno fault exists.
  • Supportplant automation systems ensuring compliance CFR 21/Part 11 and otherrelated policies and procedures.
  • Conformto all aspects of manufacturing communication network and PredictiveControl System.
  • Participatein CAPA investigations impacting Engineering.
  • Participatein the maintenance of Medium Voltage Equipment.
  • SupportRisk based cybersecurity threat identification and mitigation activities.
  • Performresponsibilities to ensure that the appropriate application of securityproducts and technologies are in place to protect the organization’ssystems and information and enable achievement of the organization’sobjectives.
  • Supportthe development of a risk-based cyber security program which meetsregulatory requirements and aligns with industry leading informationsecurity practices.
  • Performthreat identification and mitigation activities using industry leadingsecurity controls and tools sets.
  • Applytechnical knowledge to protect the company assets against cyber threats.

Skills Brief:

  • The candidatemusthave experience with the following technology: Allen Bradley (Logix 5000)
  • Knowledge in PLC and HMI programming/commissioning of Allen Bradley control systems
  • Proven knowledge and experience with one or more of the following will be an advantage: Siemens (Step7), , SCADA, Control Systems, Vision Systems
  • Knowledge in thevalidationofautomated processesfor medical devices or pharmaceuticals
  • Knowledge in the improvement and implementation ofassembly automationsolutions, robotics, and complex machine controls
  • Knowledge and understanding of multiple products or disciplines

Person Profile:

Candidates must have aB.Sc. degree in Mechatronics or equivalent, with a strong emphasis in mechatronicsor automation discipline. Internship experience or hands-on manufacturingindustry experience would be ideal, preferably in a pharmaceutical,biotechnology, blue chip or relevant GMP environment. The ideal candidate willhave excellent communication skills and strong problem skills.
