This person will support the development and implementation of technical training for Engineering and Maintenance personnel supporting high-speed automated inspection, assembly and robotic equipment in the site.

This role provides an opportunity to develop a strong understanding of complex automated manufacturing equipment while taking ownership of a defined technical training and digital capability improvement programme. Working with experienced System Owners, Maintenance Managers, Engineers, Technicians and equipment vendors, the successful candidate will review existing and vendor-supplied training materials, identify opportunities for improvement and help develop structured, practical training programmes for the Engineering and Maintenance teams.

The role will also support the adoption of PlantPulse and approved AI/digital tools, helping Engineering and Maintenance personnel use equipment data and emerging technologies more effectively for troubleshooting, reliability improvement and productivity. The position would suit a recent Engineering graduate or early-career Engineer with strong technical curiosity, communication skills and an interest in automation, equipment reliability, digitalisation and technical training.

Duties:

  • Work with System Owners, Engineers, Technicians and equipment vendors to develop structured and practical technical training programmes.
  • Coordinate the rollout of technical training across Engineering and Maintenance personnel on four shifts.
  • Support the development of competency assessments and methods to measure training effectiveness and identify remaining knowledge gaps.
  • Coordinate the rollout of the Technician Electrical Training programme across the Maintenance organisation.
  • Support and progressively drive adoption of PlantPulse within the Technician group, helping personnel use equipment data and digital tools to improve troubleshooting, condition monitoring and equipment reliability.
  • Identify practical opportunities for approved AI tools to improve Engineering and Maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, technical analysis, reporting, knowledge sharing and routine administrative tasks.
  • Develop guidance and provide introductory training to Engineering and Maintenance personnel on the effective and appropriate use of approved AI tools.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, actions, training metrics and progress reports, providing regular updates to Engineering and Maintenance management.
  • Capture feedback and lessons learned from training activities and use these to continuously improve the training programme.
Education and Experience:
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronic, Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Internship, placement or up to 2 years' experience within pharmaceutical, medical device or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to automated manufacturing equipment, PLCs, robotics, machine vision, electrical systems or high-speed mechanical equipment.
