Job summary

LMH Engineering Ireland is seeking a Junior EHS Advisor to help deliver a safe working environment across our project sites and manufacturing operations. Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or working towards).
  • 1–2 years' experience in an EHS support role, ideally in construction, MEP, or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Irish health and safety legislation (Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act).
  • Strong written and verbal communication with attention to reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day EHS activity across project sites under the EHS Manager.
  • Carry out routine site safety inspections and walkdowns, record findings and track corrective actions.
  • Assist in preparing RAMS for site activities.
  • Support incident and near-miss reporting, investigations, and record-keeping.
  • Help coordinate site inductions, toolbox talks, and EHS training records.
  • Maintain EHS documentation, registers and files for audits.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with safety rules and PPE.
  • Prepare EHS reports and statistics for management review.
  • Stay up to date with Irish and EU health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Travel between sites as required.

Job description

LMH Engineering is seeking a Junior EHS Advisor to support the delivery of a safe working environment across our project sites and manufacturing operations. This is an entry-to-early-career role suited to a recent graduate or candidate with initial site experience, providing structured exposure to environmental, health and safety practice within a mechanical and structural contracting environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the EHS Manager and site teams to embed safety standards, support inspections and audits, and assist with the reporting and administration that underpins the company's EHS management system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day EHS activity across assigned project sites, working under the direction of the EHS Manager.
  • Carry out routine site safety inspections and walkdowns, recording findings and tracking close‑out of corrective actions.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for site activities.
  • Support incident and near‑miss reporting, investigation, and record‑keeping in line with company procedures.
  • Help coordinate site inductions, toolbox talks, and EHS training records for site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Assist with maintaining EHS documentation, registers, and files to meet internal and statutory audit requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with site safety rules and PPE requirements, escalating issues as needed.
  • Support preparation of EHS reports and statistics for project and management review.
  • Keep up to date with relevant Irish and EU health, safety, and environmental legislation applicable to construction and manufacturing.
  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or working towards).
  • 1-2 years' experience in an EHS support role, ideally within construction, M&E, or manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation (Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good attention to detail for reporting and documentation.
  • Comfortable working on active construction/manufacturing sites and willing to travel between sites as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A recognised EHS qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate (or actively working towards one).
  • Prior exposure to MEP/mechanical, fabrication, or structural construction environments.
  • Familiarity with EHS management software or digital inspection/reporting tools.
