Job summary

Designer Group is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor to join our Ireland site-based Safety team. The role requires 3+ years in construction health and safety and a QQI Level 7+ qualification in Health & Safety.

You will lead audits, manage RAMS, deliver training, and provide on-site EHS guidance to ensure compliance with company and client procedures. Fluent English, a full driving licence, and First Aid are essential.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years’ health and safety experience in construction.
  • Third-level qualification in Health & Safety (QQI Level 7 or equivalent).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site audits and inspections to ensure safety compliance.
  • Assist with accident/incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Audit and assess potential new contractors before they commence work.
  • Develop and implement Behavioural Safety policies and carry out training.
  • Supervise EHS documentation to support the safety management system.
  • Deliver health & safety orientation programmes for site personnel.
  • Prepare and deliver training courses including assessments.
  • Represent the company at site EHS meetings.
  • Review Safe Work Plans (SWPs) and RAMS for site tasks.
  • Provide EHS advice and direction to on-site personnel.
  • Collect information for handover to Client at project end.
  • Track and report weekly KPIs to SMT.

Designer Group is seeking to recruit a Senior Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor to join its growing Safety department.

Overview of duties
  • Conducting regular site audits/inspections to ensure health and safety compliance to Company and Client procedures/rules.
  • Assist with carrying out accident, incident investigations and root cause analysis studies.
  • Assist in auditing and assessing potential new contractors before they commence work.
  • Continue to develop the company’s Behavioural Safety Policies and carry out training as required.
  • Supervise and manage EHS documentation to support the Company’s integrated safety management system.
  • Delivering Health & Safety orientation programmes for personnel working on site.
  • Prepare and deliver training courses, including training assessments.
  • Representation at site EHS meetings.
  • Reviewing the SWPs (Safe Work Plans) for the tasks on site.
  • Compiling and reviewing RAMS.
  • Provide EHS advice and direction to relevant personnel on-site as required.
  • Collecting and collating relevant information for handover to the Client at the end of the project.
  • Tracking and compiling of weekly KPIs and issue to SMT.
  • At least 3 years’ health and safety experience gained in construction, preferably electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Hold a recognised third-level qualification (of at least QQI L7 Equivalent) in Health & Safety
  • Fluent in English.
  • First Aid Responder
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Flexibility in line with business requirements
  • Ability to represent the company in a professional manner at all times
Desired Skills:
  • Mental Health First Aider
  • Membership of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
  • Competent in the use of online induction software and mobile devices to complete audits/inspections.
  • Working within a generative culture, liaising with Client/PSDP/PSCS.
  • Working in a highly regulated environment.
