Job summary

Alloy Enterprises is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to advise on Environmental, Health and Safety matters to Project Management teams and stakeholders, helping implement the EHS management system across projects within the regional remit.

This role is office based; hybrid working is not possible. You will lead audits, risk assessments, training needs, and EHS reporting, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across sites and projects.

Qualifications

  • IOSH membership at Graduate level minimum (CMIOSH preferred).
  • Degree or equivalent in Environmental Health and Safety Management or similar (preferred).
  • 3–5 years minimum EHS experience in large manufacturing/fabrication settings (multi-site experience preferred).
  • Experience implementing EHS Management Systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME to operational management and develop formal annual plans to drive continuous improvement.
  • Present EHS data in regular meetings with business unit leaders and management teams.
  • Support workplace risk assessment and control, identify compliance gaps, and provide solutions.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, managers, supervisors, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor legal compliance and establish procedures to address weaknesses promptly.
  • Support development and maintenance of a comprehensive EHS management system.
  • Identify and address EHS training needs.
  • Address audit findings to ensure effective resolution.
  • Manage internal audit program and track action completion.
  • Generate reports on EHS data, analyze trends, and lead EHS initiatives.
  • Conduct regular team walks to provide support and solve problems.
  • Visit installation sites to meet contractual obligations and address issues.
  • Document site visits and elevate issues internally and externally.
  • Attend safety council/committee and management meetings for proper action on issues.
  • Investigate serious workplace incidents and prepare detailed root cause reports.
  • Work with authorities on investigations and enforcement actions to minimize risk.
  • Participate in Compliance forums to stay current with best practices.
  • Oversee environmental aspects through calendars and management systems.
  • Review contractor processes to meet EHS standards.

You will effectively support the implementation of the company EHS management system and best practices, provides support across planned/live projects taking place, within their regional remit.

Due to the requirements of this role, hybrid working is not possible and the successful candidate would be office based.

  • Monitor legal compliance and establish effective procedures to address any weaknesses promptly
  • Support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive EHS management system
  • Identify and address EHS training needs
  • Address audit findings from internal, external, and self-audits to ensure effective resolution
  • Manage the facility's internal audit program and track action item completion
  • Generate reports on EHS data, analyze trends, and lead EHS initiatives
  • Conduct regular operational team walks to provide support and solve problems
