Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic exposure to payroll processes (in-house, bureau, or consulting).
• Interest in HR systems or payroll technology; prior Workday exposure is a plus but not essential.
• Strong Excel skills and data handling.
• Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support configuration of Workday Payroll elements under guidance of senior consultants.
• Assist with payroll testing, including parallel runs and reconciliation checks.
• Help prepare and maintain project documentation, configuration workbooks, and training materials.
• Support data validation and troubleshooting of payroll issues during testing and hypercare phases.
• Attend client workshops and calls, taking notes and following up on actions.
• Assist with year-end processing tasks and statutory reporting support for UK and Ireland.
• Build understanding of client business requirements and translate them into system configuration.
• Collaborate with the wider delivery team across HR and finance workstreams.

Role Overview Albida is looking for a Junior Workday Payroll Consultant to support payroll transformation and implementation projects for clients across the UK and Ireland. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their payroll or HR systems career to build hands-on Workday experience within a client delivery environment, working alongside senior consultants on live projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support configuration of Workday Payroll elements under the guidance of senior consultants (pay components, earnings/deductions, accumulations)
• Assist with payroll testing, including parallel runs and reconciliation checks
• Help prepare and maintain project documentation, configuration workbooks, and training materials
• Support data validation and troubleshooting of payroll issues during testing and hypercare phases
• Attend client workshops and calls, taking notes and following up on actions
• Assist with year-end processing tasks and statutory reporting support for UK and Ireland
• Build understanding of client business requirements and how they translate into system configuration
• Collaborate with the wider delivery team across HR and finance workstreams

Required Experience

• Some exposure to payroll processes (in-house, bureau, or consulting) — Ireland payroll experience preferred
• Basic understanding of Irish PAYE, PRSI and USC (training will be provided to build this further)
• Interest in HR systems or payroll technology; prior Workday exposure is a plus but not essential
• Strong Excel skills and general comfort working with data
• Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. business, HR, finance) desirable but not required
