Job summary

KDM Hire Ltd is offering an excellent opportunity at our Dublin depot for skilled, proactive individuals with experience across multiple trades. You will work in a flexible, hands-on environment on site, fitting and maintaining accommodation units for hire.

You'll perform basic trades tasks, ensuring high-quality presentation and compliance with Health and Safety regulations. A full driving licence and ability to work independently are preferred. Hours: Mon–Thu 7:30–17:00, Fri 7:30–16:00.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Experience across a range of trades.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a flexible work ethic.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Qualified in a trade.
  • Experience in the temporary building industry is an advantage.
  • A full valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Fitting internal partitions, vinyl flooring, and worktops for hire.
  • Carry out basic repairs to units at off-hire.
  • Basic plumbing tasks (sinks, taps, worktops).
  • Basic electrical work and PAT testing (water heaters, hand dryers).
  • Assist with large cabin installations on site.
  • Ad hoc maintenance/joinery duties as required.
  • Ensuring units are presented to a high-quality standard.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and company policies and procedures.

Job description

What you will do:

  • Fitting internal partitions, laying vinyl flooring, fitting worktops etc. to accommodation units for hire
  • Carry out basic repairs to units at off‑hire
  • Basic plumbing tasks e.g. installing sinks, taps, worktops etc.
  • Basic electrical work and PAT testing e.g. installing water heaters, hand dryers etc.

Hours of work: Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 5pm & Friday 7.30am – 4pm

All fall arrest and fall restraint systems are required to be used in conjunction with PPE that typically comprise a full body harness and lanyard as a minimum.

Hard Hat

It is recommended that head protection is worn when using particular types of equipment. Hard hats conforming to EN 397 are designed to protect the wearer against falling objects and other impacts.

Goggles

Eye protection conforming to EN 166 protects the wearer against particles or liquids entering the eye when operating certain types of equipment.

Gloves

Protective gloves should be used during manual handling to of abrasive or sharp objects, when working with vibrating equipment, during construction work or when working with chemicals and hazardous substances.

Ear Protection

Hearing protection is vital to guard against excessive noise. If the noise level is 85dB or higher, then hearing protection is usually mandatory in the workplace.

Footwear

It is recommended that foot protection is worn whilst using specific equipment. Safety footwear should comply with EN20345:2011 as a minimum.

Face Shield

Full face shields offer a wide area of protection against high speed flying particles or chemical splashes and because of the all round ventilation, remain mist free even in wide temperature swings.

Dusk Mask

A correct fitting facepiece should be worn when operating equipment where the user is subjected to increased levels of dust.

Vibration - Green

  • This symbol indicates this product has a vibration rating of LOW or less than 5 m/s².
  • The maximum daily usage of this product is recommended not to exceed 8 hours.

Vibration - Amber

  • This symbol indicates this product has a vibration rating of MEDIUM or 5 -10 m/s².
  • The maximum daily usage of this product is recommended not to exceed 2 hours without further assessment.

Vibration - Red

  • This symbol indicates this product has a vibration rating of HIGH or over 10 m/s².
  • It is recommended that you consult your supervisor before using this product.
