Job summary

O' CONNELL CARROLL LIMITED, based in Ireland, is recruiting General Operatives to run computer controlled Jacquard rapier looms at the Kilcar weaving plant. This is a skilled, hands-on role with a 39-hour week, shift work and a 1-year initial contract, six vacancies with staggered start dates.

You will operate, monitor, and set up looms, load materials, read patterns and ensure fabric quality. Teamwork with supervisors and maintenance is essential to meet daily targets while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Experience operating computer controlled Jacquard looms in production.
• Ability to read Jacquard patterns and technical specifications.
• Fault finding and fabric quality assessment.
• Willingness to work shifts and meet production targets.
• Reliable, safety conscious and a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor computer controlled Jacquard looms during production runs.
• Set up looms to fabric design and production specs.
• Load yarn, beams, bobbins and other weaving materials.
• Read Jacquard patterns and follow instructions.
• Check fabric quality and meet standards.
• Record production, quality and downtime data.
• Maintain safety with PPE and tidy work area.
• Coordinate with supervisors and maintenance to meet targets.
