Job summary

CPL seeks a Systems Analyst for a 12-month contract based in Mayo. The role focuses on translating business requirements into technical specifications and bridging business needs with technology solutions. You will work within the Technology, Platforms and Solutions directorate to shape IT solutions.

Responsibilities include gathering requirements, creating artefacts, supporting development and QA, and contributing to the technical architecture. Open to Stamp 4, EU or Irish citizens.

• Be involved in all aspects of the design of IT solutions.
• Gain understanding of the business operations and systems.
• Meet with project stakeholders to gather, analyse and translate requirements into documentation understandable by all stakeholders.
• Create artefacts to support project delivery, including user stories, documentation, diagrams, models and other analysis outputs.
• Review third-party artefacts and provide feedback to the Solution Architect or others.
• Provide support to the Development and QA teams.
• Provide support to the Solution Architect in developing and documenting the Technical Architecture.
• Work with the Solution Architect to determine technical solutions meeting business requirements.
• Provide input to project and resource planning, budgeting, and implementation.

The Systems Analyst will work in the Technology, Platforms and Solutions directorate and will play a key role in understanding business requirements and translating them into technical specifications, playing a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions.

Your Professional Fundamentals:

• Analytical Thinking - Ability to analyse complex problems and develop effective solutions. Evaluate information and assumptions critically to make well-informed technical decisions.
• Technical Acumen - Strong understanding of the different technology layers, from infrastructure to database layer to software applications layer. Proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools.
• Business Acumen- Develop deep understanding of business processes and how they align with technology systems.
• Strong communication skills - Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa. Strong skills in writing technical documentation reports in a clear transparent manner.

Your Responsibilities:

Your Experience:

• Experience gathering user requirements and translating them into user stories, including the quality criteria used to ensure that user stories are clear, testable and aligned to business needs.
• Experience developing project artefacts, including Data Dictionaries, API Guides, Release Notes etc.
• Experience documenting best practices and procedure in relation to the Systems Analyst role.
• Experience providing support to Solution Architect / Technical.

Architect in defining and documenting the Technical Architecture for solutions being delivered.

• Experience reviewing third-party artefacts, providing appropriate feedback to the Solution Architect / Technical Architect or other parties.
• Experience providing support to Development and QA teams during the development and testing of solutions.
• Knowledge of databases including Relational Data Design, using technologies such as MySQL, MariaDB, MS SQL.
• Knowledge of widely used text formats, such as JSON and XML.
• Strong communication skills, in both technical and non-technical environments.
• Ability to quickly research and learn new technologies, tools, and techniques
