Job summary

PwC Ireland is seeking an experienced Project Manager for its Tech Central IT team within BES to deliver critical technology programs. You will lead multi-project delivery, manage scope, schedule and budget, and drive adoption of solutions with strong governance and stakeholder engagement.

The role requires 7+ years delivering complex IT projects in a corporate or consulting setting, with PMP/Prince2 and a track record in mentoring junior PMs and enhancing delivery practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business or related field; postgraduate degree advantageous.
• PMP, Prince2 Practitioner or equivalent certification.
• Experience leading delivery of complex technology projects or programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle delivery of technology projects with scope, schedule, budget and quality accountability.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, risk/issue logs, and dependency management.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and vendors to achieve objectives.
• Monitor risks and issues; implement mitigation and contingency plans.
• Provide governance through status reporting and steering committee updates.
• Drive change management to ensure smooth adoption of solutions.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance coaching to project teams.
• Promote continuous improvement in delivery methodologies and tools.
• Ensure PwC policies and quality standards are followed.
• Manage stakeholder relationships to align outcomes with business priorities.
• Support capacity planning and resource allocation within PM function.
• Lead service improvement initiatives and contribute to Tech Central strategy.

Job Description & Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Tech Central (IT) team in Business Enablement Solutions (BES) to deliver critical technology projects and programs. As a key member of the Tech Central project management team, you will manage and oversee multiple concurrent technology projects, ensuring successful delivery, adoption, and realization of business benefits. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced project management skills, leadership capabilities, and stakeholder management expertise , capable of motivating diverse teams and managing complex change programs within PwC.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle delivery of technology projects within the IT Programme of Work with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed project and program plans, including resource allocation, risk registers, issue logs, and dependency management.
• Coordinate and influence cross-functional internal teams and external vendors / suppliers to achieve project objectives.
• Monitor project performance, identify and manage risks and issues, implementing mitigation and contingency plans.
• Facilitate effective governance through regular status reporting, steering committee presentations, and stakeholder engagement.
• Champion change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of technology solutions and minimize disruption.
• Provide leadership and direct supervision to project teams, including mentoring and coaching junior project managers and team members.
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery methodologies, tools, templates, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with PwC’s policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Manage stakeholder relationships to align project outcomes with business objectives and priorities.
• Support resource planning and capacity management within the project management function.
• Lead service improvement initiatives and contribute to the strategic development of Tech Central.
• Any other related duties or activities that fall within the remit of the Project Management Team.

Education / Professional Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or a related field; a postgraduate degree is advantageous.
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Prince2 Practitioner, or equivalent project management certification is benefi cial.
• Additional change management qualification is beneficial.

Experience Required

• Minimum 7+ years’ experience managing delivery of complex technology projects or programs.
• Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a large corporate or consulting environment.
• Experience leading and developing project teams, including coaching and performance management.
• Proficient in project management tools and techniques with strong governance and reporting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in managing vendor relationships and third-party contracts.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development lifecycle, and technology adoption best practices.
