Job summary

SimoTech is seeking a Laboratory IT Support Engineer to join our Cork team. The role supports IT applications within a GMP environment and involves day-to-day lab IT operations across QCLLabs and manufacturing, in a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility.

The successful candidate will manage incidents, execute change controls, and assist with validation documentation, data backups and patching. This is a hybrid role offering growth and exposure to large corporate clients.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience supporting IT applications in a GMP environment.
• Experience in Windows 10 environments.
• Experience with server and workstation platforms.
• Experience engaging business users, ensuring that appropriate business needs are clearly communicated and delivered.
• Strong oral and written communication, cross-functional relationship building.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
• Experience with SQL databases would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the incident queue in Service Now, identifying, prioritising, and troubleshooting issues.
• Investigate and troubleshoot problems, determine solutions or recommendations for changes.
• Initiate and implement change control activities according to quality standards.
• Execute and monitor data backups and coordinate security patching with global teams.
• Prioritise support activities in line with project schedules.
• Generate computer system validation documentation per site procedures and GMP guidelines.
• Follow EHS procedures and assist in incident investigations as required.

We are seeking a Laboratory IT Support Engineerto join our team in Cork. The ideal candidate will have experience supportingIT applications within the life sciences industry in a GMP environment. The ITLabs Support Engineer will work in a hybrid role supporting our clients QCLLabs and Manufacturing Day to Day and project operations, in theirstate-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Cork.

The successfulcandidate will have the proven experience to successful support day to day ITlab systems operations, displaying a high level of integrity in the performanceof your work and recognising the importance of the quality control function inpharmaceutical production. This includes troubleshooting incidents that ariseon validated computerised instruments, implementing changes and solutions, andparticipating in continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain theincident queue in Service Now by identifying, prioritising, and troubleshootingissues as they arise.

Requirements

Qualifications &Experience

• 3+ years’experience supporting IT applications in a GMP environment e.g.,troubleshooting, managing incidents and change controls, design documentation,test case development, and system testing.
• Experienceworking in a Windows 10 environment.
• Experienceof server and workstation platforms.
• Experienceengaging business users, ensuring that appropriate business needs are clearlycommunicated and delivered at or above expectations.
• Strong oraland written communication skills are required, with proven ability tocommunicate and build relationships cross-functionally.
• Self-motivated,detail-oriented, and excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Experienceof SQL databases would be an advantage.
