Purpose of the Position

National College of Ireland (NCI) is seeking to recruit IT Application Specialist for a fixed term contract. The IT Application Specialists primary responsibilities will be the support, administration, maintenance, and development of line-of-business applications across multiple business functions using XRM, process automation, and data integration platforms.

Business process automation with Power Platform CRM/XRM administration and customisation with Dynamics 365, Exposure to a data integration platform such as Data Factory, Scribe Online, Informatica, etc. advantageous but not essential. being advantageous.

The Application Specialist must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of administration with an XRM or similar and ideally experienced with aspects of Microsoft’s Power Platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the administration of the college’s CRM, including development of customisations, workflows, and general support and maintenance.
  • Daily management and troubleshooting of CRM & portal environments, Power Automate flows with integrations from Microsoft Forms and SharePoint.
  • Responsible for management of system updates for Dynamics 365, Portal
  • Responsible for administration of CRM Licenses to ensure the College has the correct blend of licenses to satisfy needs of the business.
  • Responsible for data quality checks and advise departments on data quality issues and oversee remedial actions ensuring quality of data within CRM.
  • Responsible for scheduling periodic preventative maintenance checks.
  • Responsible for managing the College’s relationship with its CRM Partner.
  • Monitoring CRM Product enhancements and make recommendations to the business.
  • Supporting end-users if issues arise related to CRM and Triage issues escalated by Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) prior to escalation to third party support.
  • Working as part of the IT Team to resolve issues related to the Microsoft Dynamics, Power Automate Flows, Portal Environment.
  • Interact with the 1st Line Response Team members where support requests are escalated to them and manage such requests to closure.
  • Shared responsibility for application security, user setup and management
  • Support CRM work streams within key projects
Key Attributes
  • The ideal IT Application Specialist[FB2] must hold a degree in ICT or equivalent.
  • Technical and analytical skills with a systematic working style¿ with a strong attention to detail and being able to work to strict deadlines.
  • Strong facilitation, analytical and design skills – A problem solver.
  • Ability to write procedural documentation for support and training of applications.
  • Personable, confident with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written across all user levels.
  • The successful candidate must be willing to perform cross-functional duties as necessary to support the IT team.
Qualifications Required

A relevant third-level qualification in computer science, information systems or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Shortlisting

HR draft up the shortlisting documents and provide the initial screening to determine if a person meets the essential criteria of the competition. A shortlisting panel is generally made up of two senior grade staff members from the relevant department for which the role is being recruited.

Where you have been successfully shortlisted for a post, each interview panel member will be furnished with a copy of the relevant information of those who will be attending interview in order that they can review applications in advance of the interview process. All such information will be returned to NCI and shredded following the competition process.
