Job summary

FK International - Financial Search and Selection is seeking an Associate for an ambitious European team based in Dublin. You will conduct in-depth analysis and due diligence on syndicated leveraged loans and high-yield bonds, and prepare investment papers for the European Investment Committee.

Ideal candidates will have 2–4 years' experience in leveraged finance or related fields, a finance/business degree, and may be a qualified accountant or CFA candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in finance or business or equivalent.
• Qualified accountant status or active CFA pursuit.
• 2–4 years' experience in leveraged finance, credit, investment, or deal advisory.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis and due diligence on new opportunities, focusing on syndicated loans and high-yield bonds.
• Prepare investment papers for the European Investment Committee.
• Monitor and re-underwrite existing portfolio companies, identify risks and trading opportunities.
• Own sector coverage, develop investment themes, and identify secondary market opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with management, investors, capital markets, rating agencies, and analysts.

FK International is working closely with an ambitious alternative investment firm, with a focus on credit investment, seeking to hire a first-rate candidate for an Associate position within its European team, based in Dublin.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting in-depth analysis and due diligence on new investment opportunities, with a focus on syndicated leveraged loans and high-yield bonds.
• Preparing investment papers for the European Investment Committee.
• Monitoring and re-underwriting existing portfolio companies, identifying risks, emerging trends, amendment/waiver requirements and potential trading opportunities.
• Owning sector coverage, developing investment themes and ideas while identifying secondary market and relative value opportunities to enhance fund performance.
• Building and maintaining relationships with management teams, investors, capital markets, rating agencies and US sector analysts through meetings, conferences and ongoing industry engagement.

Candidate Background

Ideal candidate will have the following background:

• Strong academic record with a degree in finance/business or similar.
• Qualified accountant or actively working towards the CFA qualification.
• 2-4 years' experience in leveraged finance, credit, investment, deal advisory, transaction services or similar.
