Job summary

Fannin Ltd. Rathcoole, Co Dublin is seeking a dedicated technician to service and repair medical equipment including wheelchairs, hospital beds, and lifting devices.

You will work with 12V–24V DC systems, diagnose faults using a multimeter, and manage throughputs and spare parts in coordination with procurement. The role requires good communication, the ability to work independently and in a team, and compliance with health, safety, quality, and site regulations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Basic understanding of DC current and fault finding.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Articulate and courteous with a friendly manner.
  • Capable of working on own initiative as well as in a team.
  • Strong internal & external customer focus.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage a multitasking environment.

Responsibilities

  • Service and repair of medical equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds and patient lifting devices.
  • Working with 12V – 24V DC equipment, fault finding using multi-meter
  • Organising and managing service and repair throughput
  • Monitoring and managing outstanding call list
  • Updating IT service and repair system
  • Requisitioning spare parts with procurement team
  • Managing own spare part stock
  • Attending training courses as required
  • Carry out all activities in compliance with company, EHS & regulatory requirements
  • Participate in Cross-Functional teams, as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all quality, health & safety, company and customer site regulations
  • Work in accordance with Work Instructions, Safe Working Practices and Method Statements ensuring relevant paperwork is completed in an accurate timely manner

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Service and repair of medical equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds and patient lifting devices.
  • Working with 12V – 24V DC equipment, fault finding using multi-meter
  • Organising and managing service and repair throughput
  • Monitoring and managing outstanding call list
  • Updating IT service and repair system
  • Requisitioning spare parts with procurement team
  • Managing own spare part stock
  • Attending training courses as required
  • Carry out all activities in compliance with company, EHS & regulatory requirements
  • Participate in Cross-Functional teams, as necessary

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a service environment
  • Basic understanding of DC current and fault finding
  • Pleasant, confident manner and good verbal and written communications skills
  • Articulate, courteous with a friendly manner
  • Capability of working on own initiative without close supervision as well as a member of a team
  • Strong internal & external customer focus
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage a multitasking environment
Other information:
  • Occasional requirements to work beyond normal working hours and to travel to other Fannin sites will be expected.
  • You will be expected to attend internal & external training courses
  • Excellent remuneration package commensurate with experience will apply
